School Network Troubleshooting & Whitelisting

If Prodigies videos won't load or buffer on your school network, your IT team may need to whitelist a few URLs. Here's everything they'll need.

Videos Not Loading on Your School Network?

If Prodigies streams fine on a personal device or mobile data but not on your school's WiFi, the issue is almost always a network filter or content restriction. The fix is quick for your IT department.

URLs to Whitelist

Ask your IT team to whitelist the following domains on TCP Port 80 and UDP Port 443:

  • *.prodigies.com (including play.prodigies.com)

  • *.uscreen.tv

  • *.uscreen.io (including prodigiesmusic.uscreen.io)

  • *.mux.com (including *.stream.mux.com)

  • *.global.ssl.fastly.net

Our videos are hosted on Uscreen, which uses a global content delivery network. All five domains above need to be accessible for video to stream reliably.

Other Things to Check

Browser cache: A quick cache clear can fix page loading issues and force the video player to reload. If you are unsure how, this guide covers all major browsers.

Connection speed: Prodigies videos are 1080p at 60fps. You'll want at least 5 Mbps per device for smooth playback. You can test your speed at fast.com.

Browser: We recommend Chrome. If you are already on Chrome and having issues, try a different browser to see if the problem follows.

Wired connection: If WiFi is unreliable in your classroom, an ethernet connection will give you more consistent playback.
