Prodigies Music Sequencing
Prodigies Music is organized into chapters, with each chapter made up of 8 weeks. Each week is its own lesson, with 3 to 5 videos to watch and play along with.
We recommend spending 2 to 3 practice sessions on each week before moving on. That repetition is intentional. Kids learn music by hearing the same songs and concepts over and over, and each pass through gets a little better and a little more fun.
That said, if your child is ready to move on sooner, go for it. You know your kid best!
Where to Start Based on Age
Toddlers (under 3): Start with our Totigies and Playtime series, designed for the youngest music lovers.
Ages 3 to 6: Jump into Level 1A, which covers Chapters 1-4.
Age 6 (beginners): Start at Level 1B, Chapters 5 through 8. No need to go back to the beginning, Chapters 1-4 tend to be too slow for age 6+.
Ages 7 and up: Start with Level 2 chapters, then move on to our Recorder and Ukulele series. The Recorder series alone has over 100 video lessons and two accompanying books.
Workbooks
Each chapter has a corresponding workbook with lesson plans and weekly worksheets that line up directly with the video weeks in the app/site.
Workbook PDFs are available through an active membership. Hardcopies can be ordered from our shop.
Workbooks are not required, but they are a great supplement, especially for homeschool families who want a more structured weekly lesson plan to follow alongside the videos.
Video Collections
Aside from the weekly structure found inside our Chapters and instrument-series, we have premade playlist called Collections. Here, you'll find lessons and songs grouped by concept (such as our Rhythm Collection and Hand-Sign Collection) song studies, genres, and more!
Index
Members can also search and filter lessons by difficulty, # of notes, genre, instrument, concept, and more in the video Index. You'll find all lessons here, and can quickly add videos to your Favorites or build your own playlist.
