Where to Find Prodigies Deskbells When They're Out of Stock

Standalone Deskbells are often out of stock. Here's the CNDB-D workaround, the bulk-order path for schools, and why you don't need bells to start.

Where to Find Prodigies Deskbells When They're Out of Stock

Honest answer: we don't always have standalone Deskbells in stock. We sell them on their own sometimes, but for most of the year the individual non-kit bells are sold out. Here's why, and what to do if you need them now.

Why We're Often Sold Out

Prodigies Deskbells are in high demand, especially from schools and music classrooms ordering in bulk for the school year. When inventory runs low, the standalone Deskbell sets are usually the first thing to go. We restock when we can, but standalone sets often sell out faster than we can list them.

If you see them in stock at prodigies.com, grab them.

The CNDB-D Workaround

Here's the open secret: the same Deskbells we sell are also sold under a different product name by the original manufacturer. Same bells, same colors, same Chroma-Notes color system, just different packaging.

Search for either of these on Amazon or your favorite music supply retailer:

  • "CNDB-D" (the product SKU)

  • "Chromanotes Deskbells Diatonic" (the manufacturer's product name)

You'll find the same 8-note diatonic set we sell, often in stock when ours aren't. International customers can use this trick too, since they ship to more countries than we do.

Important: Other vendors sell "rainbow bells" that look similar but use the wrong colors. Make sure the bells you buy use the Boomwhacker color scheme (red C, orange D, yellow E, green F, teal G, blue A, purple B). That's the color system our videos, app, and sheet music use.

Bulk Orders for Classrooms or Schools

Need a lot of bells for a classroom, school, or music program? We do custom orders for schools and can usually get you what you need even when our standalone sets are out of stock.

Email [email protected] with:

  • How many sets you need

  • Diatonic only, or also chromatics, bass, and treble extensions

  • Your timeline

  • Shipping address

We'll send you a quote, accept your PO, and get the bells to you.

Don't Have Bells Yet? You Don't Need Them to Start

A lot of families think they need physical bells before they can use Prodigies. You don't. Here are a few free or near-free ways to follow along while you wait:

  • The free Prodigies Bells app in the iOS App Store and Google Play. Tap the colored bells right on the screen.

  • A piano or keyboard. Just label the keys with washi tape in the Chroma-Notes colors.

  • A xylophone. Many brands already use the right color order.

  • Boomwhackers. Same colors, different format.

You can start your kid on Prodigies Music today and add bells when they're back in stock.

Bells are optional. The lessons, the songs, the curriculum, that's the heart of Prodigies.
